With that said, I don't recall the gov't forcing Disney's hand by threating regulatory over their head? I just recall outraged people, Disney's customers in this case calling for her resignation.

I could be mistaken here, I just don't remember the Biden administration forcing her out via threats to Disney. Again could be wrong, but have no recollection of it.

Neither of these is "my team", I’m not American, but I still saw the censorship in action on social media. Is it an elaborate coup to oust Kimmel for being anti-Trump? Maybe. Is it ABC receiving direct pressure from another private company (Sinclair) because they want to push for a merger that had little chance of being approved? Maybe. Is it ABC getting rid of Kimmel for being a boring cunt? Maybe. No matter what ends up being true, people get to taste their own medicine for once.

Perhaps it’s hypocritical to be happy with Kimmel losing his job, but I think we’re way past being afraid of looking hypocritical online in the eyes of people who wanted the other side to lose their jobs for saying "faggot" online or silenced for supporting the wrong guy.

The point is that they both made stupid social media posts in bad taste, but the only one of them who was fired was the one who was not politically aligned with the current administration.

I didn't vote for trump and don't think he should even comment or get involved with kimmel. At the same time I completely understand trump wanting to "make an example" of a guy who is talking shit about his friend who was just murdered. Especially since Trump was almost killed in the same way. Jimmy fucked around and found out.

Surely you’ve seen trumps interview where they tried to toss him a softball on Charlie Kirk. With a normal person, it would be a trying time I would agree. But trump is simply too self absorbed to care much, if at all. He cares only so far as he can manipulate the situation to his benefit. Trump isn’t trying to be get back at Kimmel over Kirk, he only cares that Kimmel has been mean to him.

Seen the clip lol. Reporter asked him how's he's holding up and he said very good. Then he changed the subject. The argument can be made that he did not want to talk about that because it's all he's been doing since it happened. If someone I don't know asked me that question after my friends funeral I'd probably say I'm doing OK and try to change the subject.
