Stop me if you've heard this before. We're getting reports that the Turkish/US backed Islamist forces have been terrorizing local kurdish populations during their advance. Reports of executions, kidnappings, etc.

Of course, its a clusterfuck of acronyms. The Kurds are part of the SDF formerly backed by the US. The HTS are advancing with those new conspicous western armor, but the HTS have a policy of live and let live with the Kurds. But the Turkish backed SNA has started massacring Kurds, reports of taking women, looting towns, killing the men, etc. Of course the Turks really just want to destroy the SDF and Kurds and aren't that interested in Assad. And the US formally rejects ties with the HTS given they are basically just nu-al qaeda but look what weapons and armor they magically have. Just like how we secretly armed Al Nusra in the past

How the FUCK is this war still going

According to All Israel News, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad reportedly sought assistance from Israel in confronting Islamist rebel groups advancing in Syria. The request was allegedly relayed through a European ally of Assad. Israel, however, conditioned any potential assistance on Syria expelling all Iranian forces and affiliated militias from its territory. The report highlights Israel’s cautious approach to the Syrian conflict, focusing on its security concerns, particularly Iran’s influence in the region.

Without the Russian air base Assad is done. The Russian Air Force is what kept him in power for the last 15 years.

Does Israel actually want Assad out?who’s replacing him? No one good imo.

I would imagine that Israel wants assad to stay in (stick to the devil you know), but with a completely fractured country that Israel can control via proxy. This recent resurgence is because israel wants iranian influence out of the country permanently. Assads between a rock and a hard place it would seem.

The Kurds have been completely thrown under the bus. SNA, the Turkish backed rebels are basically raping and pillaging their way through Aleppo towards other Kurd strongholds such as Manbij and Raqqa. I actually think they will continue to try and move east.

Now the SNA and HTS are arguing amongst each other. It’s doubtful this melting pot succeeds in running the northern part of the country. Will probably devolve into fighting like usual.

I'm not sure if anyone in Pard is dumb enough to believe that, but I won't speak for everyone.

This is an Israeli operation that I can mostly get behind. Somewhat neutering Hezbollahs offensive capabilities took a heavy toll on y'all; the ceasefire is completely useless if you allow them to resupply from syria. If the status quo remained, and Hezbollah was granted breathing room, I would argue that this recent war would be a failure, much like 2006 was, BUT if you can put a stop to Iran's meddling in the ME, while gaza and Lebanon are on the back burner, then this war becomes a lot more favourable for the Israelis. Everything currently happening in Syria benefits Israel the most by far; hell, everyone's so distracted that no one's paying attention to yall bombing damascus again.

a mixture of US/Israel and Iran/Russia.

both Israel and Iran are itching for increased tensions in the region with the foolish belief they will come out on top in the long run. the US enables regional conflict on behalf of Israel and in turn Russia enables regional conflict on behalf of Iran. It's pretty well documented by now that pre-Iraq invasion both the US officials and Israeli intel knew there were no weapons of mass destruction, and the invasion was under false pretense used as the first domino in an overarching regional conflict. Iraq was supposed to be first but it was supposed to fall FAST, it didn't. Afghanistan came into play because the Taliban refused to let Saddaam take the credit for their attack and we got drawn into a two pronged conflict immediately without realizing the extent of either prong. Syria, Libya, and potentially Iran if they refused to relent were the next dominos expected to fall.
