If we had a functional government we'd be looking into it, and thankfully some of it is getting investigated like the oil price fixing scandal unfolding now that nobody is really talking about, but it's really bad in food as well.

In 2014 there was a bird flu that caused a sharper drop in egg production in both number of eggs and as a percentage of eggs produced, but we didn't see anywhere near the price spike. The reason is just price gouging.

Imagine thinking Trump would fix food costs… you people are hilarious

2.29 for best choice white bread, 3.49 for store baked, 3.99 for brand name here. Thats pretty extreme by comparison

In russia a loaf is about 60 rubles right now, equivalent to 66 cents usd

I've lived in three parts of the country, a loaf of Walmart white bread costs about a dollar in all 3 places, Texas, Arizona, Kentucky, I don't believe that a loaf of Walmart white bread is 4 dollars unless you buy it in maybe california

It's gotten so bad here they have discount 1+ week old bread on a special shelve for those who simply can't afford bread.
