I'm not gonna argue with you. Do some non-MSM research. ^^

WTF do you mean "do some research?"

I have real world ship handling experience. My experience > your incredulity.

your experience is obviously MSM liberal propaganda dude!

I appreciate your response on the last page, I did a good amount of reading last week and its pretty remarkable how often big ships seem to lose power.
whats equally crazy is how fucking giant their rudders are

What precisely did your "sea going service" consist of?

Everyone else is irrelevant.

Enough to know that all large ships have triple redundant power sources. :/

And... while you might be irrelevant, they are not.

Here's some pic of the stuff I worked on...

Generators 1 & 2 and Generator 3 (3 is the emergency one), 1 & 2 are the BIG ones... You could stand inside the cylinders.
All you can see of generators 1 & 2 are the CAT Electric sets on the ends.
The 150K gallons each diesel tanks, and the generator control panels.
And a couple pics of the 50 ft. long 20,000 volt (plate voltage), transmitters. We had three of those too.
The transmitters put out 2,000,000 watts.
The transmitter power supplies, were rated at 2000 amps.

The Timer Rooms where we created the LORAN signal... had three of everything too.
Triple redundancy was the.... standard.

And my father was an electrician mate, and my brother was a reactor tech. My sister... she was a cook. :)
The guy who lives beside me (now passed away), was a NAVY Machinery Tech.

Long story short... I know wtf I'm talking about. ^^

Are you arguing that any time a large ship loses power it has to be the result of some sort of cyber attack? Sorry if I'm misrepresenting, I just don't really understand

I tried reading up on this the day it happened and everything I read from people involved in shipping or piloting large ships all said blackouts do happen and while there are redundant power systems those can fail due to human error, improper maintainence or some mechanical issue.

In the video of the crash it clearly shows the lights going out and coming back on shortly later before going out again. The only thing I've seen about this that seemed really suspicious is the black box missing a certain chunk of time in its recording, my rough understanding of black boxes is they are supposed to run no matter what so that seemed really weird to me.

That weak ass cop out doesn't cut it with me. I've already described for you how this ship had 2 main generators, not 3 (and therefore isn't triple redundant), and also that it is common practice to not run them all at the same time because you A - don't need the extra electricity, and B - wastes fuel. This also IS NOT a warship. It also only has 1 engine (very not-triple redundant). So no, I don't think you have the commensurate experience to speak for "all large ships."

Are you calling them and asking for pointers on how to discuss ship handling with Santara@d2jsp? I doubt it. So no, their experience means nothing for the purposes of the discussion. Otherwise I'd be throwing out my family's Navy experience (brother - 2 years, uncle - 4 years, dad - 20 years). No, this is about your experience (still unstated) and mine, 4 years as a bo'sun. I've actually driven ships into and out of port, I've driven them alongside oilers, I've deployed anchors, I've driven from aft steering.

This is my hand next to the steering shaft of my ship:

This is that same steering shaft zoomed out a bit:

This is my ship's helm console (edited out the ship name):

Knowing people with experience does not impart their experience onto you. What did you do? Sounds like you were a radar tech. Spare me your attempts at claiming experience.
