Tie between Andrew Jackson and Thomas Jefferson

Jackson stopped the national bank twice, among other things.

Jefferson was a libertarian, but he enacted the Louisiana Purchase even though it wasn't constitutional.

Lincoln was an adept liar. I'm pretty sure he wanted to end it, but it was politically untenable at the time.

Our country probably wouldn't exist without him, so criticism of him might just be armchair philosophy.

Our country would exist. It just wouldn't be a single nation. It'd be two. And, especially with the foreign invasion being inflicted upon the south/southwest by the north, and the attempt to actively prevent the south/southwest to put a stop to it, it could easily be argued that the interests of the people of the States would be better served had the Union lost.

The #1 issue with Lincoln was the destruction of State Sovereignty. The 10th Amendment is very clear: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” This has been violated to such an extreme, and power and wealth stolen and centralized in DC to such a massive extent that another Civil War seems more likely than not. Just a question of when.

Slavery was on it's natural way out. Lincoln's goals had nothing to do with ending slavery and everything to do with preserving the Union. Lincoln said straight out if there'd been a way to preserve the union without freeing the slaves that he would have, and that he thought blacks were inferior to whites.

I'm not pro-slavery. I'm anti-Tyrant, and Lincoln pretty much suspended the Constitution for the duration of his war. You know, the Constitution, aka the Law of the Land in the United Stated? Tyrant.

the same constitution which makes it pretty much impossible for any state to leave the union? that one?

Does it? Can you point to where, exactly?

The Constitution simply has no provision for a State leaving the Union. It doesn't forbid it or set a legal process by which to do it.

In a democracy, a state would merely need to hold a referendum vote. If it passes by a 66% majority, boom, they're out.

Granted, the US isn't a democracy, but the point stands that your post is bullshit. :)
