The problem of course is that Iran is leading the world in hypersonic/drone technology. They have a huge stockpile that can outrange most sm class missles on a destroyer. If uncle sam were to do a first strike on Iranian infrastructure/oil fields, Iran has the ability to actually close the straight of hormuz and sink American ships.

One of the biggest reasons why they can't best Ansarallah in Yemen is because of these missles especially the newly acquired fateh-110's. An attack directly on Iran would absolutely grind tbe global economy to a halt and this is before Ansarallah attacks Aramco oil fields in the Kingdom.
