Dude is a hero for stepping in, surely there isn’t much doubt about this

But When guy went unconscious , he should have let go. Anyone who has been put in a hold or has put someone else knows the feeling even if you can’t see their face. He was no longer a threat and no reason to keep the hold

If he was comfortable stepping in, I’m sure he would have known. But I’m also too lazy to see video if it exists to know with certain how long the Hold went for after he blacked out

he will get manslaughter for not letting go, but his initial actions are undoubtedly heroic

The lack of mental care In this country is a separate point that nobody on the train is going to fix

That "victim" easily could've been a member of a gang and in an adjacent train car or after all of them exited the train could've been 10 homeless people/10 gang members/10 blacks ready to fight/stab/attack the "3 or 4 grown men" and easily overpower them. You see things situationally but not with any depth of awareness in terms of the city this "incident" happened. Everyone from Chicago/New York knows that blacks stay with blacks, whites stay with whites, latinos stay with latinos, greeks stay with greeks, etc. etc. If you for example came into a predominantly black/latino/white neighborhood and got in a fist fight. Within a few minutes you'll be surrounded by multiple people of the same skin color and have your face beaten to a pulp. You want to defend homeless people? Go to the homeless encampment in New York or Chicago and watch how quickly you get robbed/stabbed/ or worse but yet if you choke out one of those homeless people when they pull a knife out of their shoe and start trying to slit your throat you should just "not defend yourself" to the full extent of what "defending yourself" means in this country. Sorry bud you have just never been in a situation that calls for you to defend your own life vs a violently deranged individual. He choked him too hard for your liking? Go cry about it lol any real man would've done the same thing.

It was a hypothetical statement...

In Chicago every inner city train/public transport has a homeless person/gang member pretty much at every corner and every "stop" in Chicago. The homeless work with gangs to help gangs target wealthy individuals to steal their belongings. If they can't steal from you or get you to give them something for free they'll pull the race card and try and make you as uncomfortable as possible.

edit: It's always young to middle aged black men. For me personally it's 20/20. Never been a latino. A woman. A white person. Always some black dude. That's my experience.

When you make death threats to strangers in public, then expect death as a probable consequence. Basic animal logic 101. Also, those saying a Marine should be doing non-lethal takedowns are comical. They trained to kill, not help your mental health crisis. Police and DA do their part, then citizen Marine don't need to chock fools out.

Crime is currently the lowest its ever been in NYC. Almost every crime is halved compared to the guiliani era. Facts over feelings.
