Update your time frame.
Biden didn't intentionally keep documents (Trump did) and when requested he returned them (Trump didnt) and Trump lied on sworn statements to the government that he had returned all the documents despite knowing he didn't.
Both were treated with kid gloves until Trump actively obstructed.
This is such an obvious open and shut case that anybody defending trump can be immediately written off as a hack with zero further evidence needed
that's still false. biden never returned all the documents. it's how they were found in multiple different places later.

(a)Whoever, being an officer, employee, contractor, or consultant of the United States, and, by virtue of his office, employment, position, or contract, becomes possessed of documents or materials containing classified information of the United States, knowingly removes such documents or materials without authority and with the intent to retain such documents or materials at an unauthorized location shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than five years, or both.
(b)For purposes of this section, the provision of documents and materials to the Congress shall not constitute an offense under subsection (a).
(c)In this section, the term “classified information of the United States” means information originated, owned, or possessed by the United States Government concerning the national defense or foreign relations of the United States that has been determined pursuant to law or Executive order to require protection against unauthorized disclosure in the interests of national security.
the argument now is.. did biden mean to take so many classified documents and store them within "numerous" unauthorized locations?
or was it just 1 unauthorized location and the security was so lacking, that they ended up all over the country?
each document is technically a count btw.
actually, i'm reading this and it does get a little tricky with (b). i may have to rethink my position, i'll get back to you.
i've thought about it. it depends if the documents were "provided" and not "taken".
