I just want to put something into perspective
Russell Brand was demonetized ie banned ostensibly for some vague 'abuse' allegations against him by women, some claiming rape, some claiming just 'emotional', some ambiguous, with little evidence or details, completely unrelated to anything he's posted on youtube, without any charges being filed or breaking any youtube rules. This comes after he begins doing the right-wing talk show circuit, obviously the real reason. The decision was completely arbitrary and with no basis in any site rules or precedent.
Meanwhile, this case unfolded;
https://apnews.com/article/youtube-prankster-shot-classified-goons-mall-5e5ba0ba45ed9a810cdc032255effcd2A youtuber 'prankster' who records himself engaging in aggressive and unprovoked violations of other people in public and manages to get himself justifiably shot after menacing some random guy in a mall. He vows to go continue making his youtube videos, doing stuff like stalking people in public, vomiting on people, etc. His primary income is from his youtube monetization, earning him thousands per month.
Even though his conduct is already prohibited by youtube's "Harmful or dangerous content policy", which explicitly lists "Dangerous or threatening pranks"- something that a jury specifically proved in this case- his youtube channel remains active, he's not banned, and he's still monetized
Because this is the future of completely unaccountable corporate overlords with monopolies that control the entire public forum and services. Their rules only exist when it serves their bias and political interests, disregard the ones that exist and are inconvenient and when rules don't exist they'll just make them up. The public square belongs to them.
