then you understand how the office of president works far less than he did when he was making campaign promises you swallowed whole.

he knew the landscape of the legislature, AND he got into office by torching RINOS, so even if he did cause a red wave at either 2016 or during midterms he was unlikely to get broad support from even his own party.

he knew he was relegated to executive orders, something he demonized Obama for using, and he knew he'd abuse them to give the impression he was acting on his campaign promises.

agents of change promise the world, obama was the same, but they never get legislative support and are ultimately a single stroke of a pen away from having all of their gains undone.

literally the only thing, and i mean this literally, trump did as president was appoint justices at an increased rate nationwide and a seriously increased rate in SCOTUS. that is the only thing he did that will have any effect at all on america in the long term.

he wasnt close to solving immigration, he didnt make any changes to corruption in washington, he didnt alter healthcare at all, didnt bolster the 2nd amendment, he didnt boost free speech, he didn't do anything at all other than appoint judges.
