Well, If you want to look at marriage as transactional, maybe it’s not for you.

Sure it is. You don’t believe in no fault divorces. Clearly, the law sees it equitable to have no fault divorces.

yeah therefore

Code
marriage is the worst contract possible from a business perspective

remains true, albeit hyperbole since you could imaginably construct a worse one

As a married man that has quite decent amount of assets. I still see marriage as fair contract. Maybe that’s my naivety of having never gone through a divorce.

Edit: in regards to Crowder, it’s not a far stretch to see how he uses money as a tool of abuse to control her. So F him and hope she gets 1/2.

Same. But, say for whatever reason it ended due to xyz, typically it's not a happy ending, you're going to feel gutted when your net worth gets cut in half and you're starting from scratch relationship wise and financially. There's no, well that's what marriage is and put on a smile and walk away. Quite certain you will feel like its the worse thing ever.

This is especially true for id say those of us with higher net worth. Your wealth truly starts to snowball at a certain point where the compound returns vastly out weigh your annual take home, you're going to be set back behind that point before you snowballed most likely unless you're extremely well off.

Don’t get me wrong, I definitely know it’ll feel bad to lose 1/2 your net worth. I know that money messes with people’s emotions. My perspective is different because I never saw it was my money and her money. We see it as our money.

i guess the our is more of a word in the abstract in that context. because if the wife is making 100k a year and little johnny is out unpacking home depot boxes on overnights, "our money" mean something different. doesn't necessarily become normalized.. it's kind of you know who's making the $ at that point

which is not necessarily a bad thing, but as you said depends on how you let $ impact you (and her)
