After post George Floyd crime wave left the MPD understaffed and underfunded, the richest whitest neighborhood is banding together to pay for extra rent-a-cops for themselves only, paying OT for uniformed patrols with all police powers except not helping the black/somali/native/etc neighborhoods. Even though we're in the middle of budget negotiations on what to do with a $7.7 billion surplus (because of federal covid subsidies for state budgets aka printing money and driving up inflation). So lowry hill which is 90% white people mostly with masters degrees and $500k+ homes and $120k+ median income twice the city average, but happens to be nestled right in there surrounded by the warzones to the north and east, is going to get their own private funded police force. Police for me but not for thee

why would you want to pay for other neighborhoods where the inhabitants do the murdering looting robbing and arsoning? I wouldn't.
