If base data is manipulated, you can get peer reviews and replication studies to corroborate anything.
You cannot replicate your own results. Replication studies by definition happen by another group, and scientists will gladly disprove your paper if it can't be replicated. They love that shit.
So now get back to the original point, that there are plenty of things that plants breathe that are significant polutants. If I spill millions of pounds of ethylene into the atmosphere it's still a pollutant even though it's just carbon and hydrogen and plants breathe it.
