You are buying into propaganda again. Parler was "deplatformed" for being unable to moderate their content. There were death threats among other things that they were notified about that went unaddressed for months. There was no concerted effort to deplatform them based on political affiliation, and Parler still exists. How about if you want a platform, don't flagrantly violate the terms of service? It's not like the president isn't extensively having his words covered in basically every outlet anyway. He is the president. Don't be stupid and imply the president doesn't still have the widest reach of literally anybody in the country even without his twitter account.

Yeah, right, keep telling that to yourself. You claim that Parler was leaving flagrant violations of the terms of service of their web hosts unaddressed for months. Then why did the moment AWS et al. decided to finally pull the plug on them occur at the exact same moment Trump was banned from Twitter and Facebook and threatened to take a big chunk of their Republican-leaning users with him? What a """""strange""""" """"""""""""""""""""""coincidence""""""""""""""""""""!

Unless you advocate for rewriting the first amendment you will never have a basis in American law to require hosting of political speech by a private company. That goes for the president, any platform, or any person. Hosting speech is just as much a political expression as saying it yourself, and it has the absolute maximum level of protection that you can give freedom of speech in America.

Of course you cannot force private companies to host particular speech. You can, however, break up monopolies or trusts.

I think the easier explanation is that Parler was already on their radar as a shit stain they'd like to get rid of, and when Trump and the capitol riot happened it gave them an excuse to pull the trigger. I highly doubt there was some secret chat where they all said "Okay, ban him now" in unison.

We know they had informed Parler multiple times of the violations for instance.

This was the moment when political tensions were at their climax and the right-wing third or so of the country was maximally outraged about big tech censorship and media manipulation. And you're saying the folks in Silicon Valley deemed this the most opportune moment to add deplatforming on top of the deletion/cancellation/censorship/silencing of conservative voices?

Also, the big tech companies must have been aware that a lot of the Republican lawmakers were really incensed about being silenced and that this further escalation would turn them into their explicit enemies. They must also have known that Republicans would eventually regain power in Washington. All in all, this line of reasoning doesn't make sense unless the decision-makers at some of the biggest and richest corporations on the planet are either utter fools or living in a truly insane bubble.

The richest corporations on the planet don't really care who's in power. They will not face real consequences even if Republicans get in office.

You are working under the assumption that Republicans, as a party, can actually accomplish things legislatively. They can't.

So you admit that all the slogans about "Republicans being a threat to the rights of black and brown people/healthcare/women's rights/the climate/democracy itself" are just drivel?

Nope. Because those things aren't usually accomplished on the federal level by legislative action.

Dude just stop lying, promoting violence, and being racist....it isn't that hard. If it's required to lie and/or be racist and/or promote violence to be conservative, then the movement deserves to be destroyed. People who don't engage in those things aren't censored.
