Woulda been a good time for the jury to know about nullification. The government can't allow that, but juries can't be held accountable for their decision...

we do teach civics in all US schools, but much like 10th grade chemistry, students find it so boring they dont remember it after the final test is done. its common that many people dont even know the branches of govt, let alone checks or balances. many cant tell u the difference between congress and senate. all required material in middle school.

If all juries in America decided to vote innocent on all drug related cases, there would be nothing that the government could do about it.

I wouldnt advocate this all the time though. Often the only way to catch sex traffickers is through drug related crimes.
