its funny how these laws have explicit language / court rulings that precludes them from applying to the women having abortions, and the group think insists that it will imprison women for 30 years and echos that all the way up to ostensibly legitimate debate between pundits. Yet when new york passed a bill that removes criminal abortion penalties for attacks on women or in virginia amended the bill to allow abortions up to the moment of birth for reason of 'non-serious/non-permanent mental impairment', the same people are happy to completely ignore the text of the law and its legal implications and instead insist its a straw man and no woman would ever try to have an abortion 'days before giving birth' for a non-serious reason, or that all forcible abortions of women would be covered by other statutes like assault. But simply reading the code shows otherwise. Under NY law, I don't see any way for the state to prosecute a man who administers an abortifacient to a woman unknowingly. Its not an "intent to disfigure another person seriously and permanently, or to destroy, amputate or disable permanently a member or organ of his body". They couldn't prosecute someone for a 'forced abortion' in any legal way that wouldn't criminalize voluntarily abortion, since the code doesn't distinguish consent. And pretending that women would never seek an abortion in the last days of a pregnancy is denying the oodles of cases of women trying to drown their babies after birth or cases like Kermit Gosnell.
This is why I, as pro-life centrist who sits right at the 'old' societal consensus of 'abortion up until viability', have to side with republicans. I don't agree with a heartbeat law, but I definitely don't agree with the more radical stuff going on the left, and at least the right is honest and getting their laws challenged and knocked down in court, whereas the left is setting extreme precedents that are warping our laws and justifying them with blatant lies.
But Ben Shapiro is a cuck and couldn't argue his way out of a box
You were doing so well :(.
