Is there any truth to the NRA and gun manufacturers performing better with a Democratic boogeyman in office?

Seems like it would be true, and I'm reading articles that support the idea, but there are probably a lot of other factors at play. Thoughts?

yes, I think there is, my friends brother worked for a local gun shop when Obama was in office, he said business was booming (Of course this is just anecdotal evidence, I'm not going to bother googling) and let's just say now that Trump is president, he no longer works there lol.
