I don't think you get it at least from my view. But I will put it this way.
If it is a two state solution. Do you consider them as stated below.

1. Sovereign Nation State with Self Determination
2. Have a defense / Military force with Navy , Air force and Army.
3. Regional political clout.

No offensive army (similar to japan post ww2)
The rest i dont care

If you look clearly at the current map of Israel, how can a two state solution be viable.
I am going to be candid about this, but this is just me.
It is a do if you damn and damn if you don't situation.

How are you going to divide up the "land" for a two state solution ?

As it is divided now.
Problem is that the Palestinians wants to return to the 48 partition plan.. that time has passed unfortunately..

They won't accept it, it will mean that they are a pseudo Vassal state aka Germany , Japan, after WW2.
For Germany and Japan , they lost the war. They were the aggressors. USA won , too bad for them.

The Palestinians think other wise since they believe it is their land and they didn't exactly lose a war to Israel per say.
Furthermore in their minds, they believe that after WW2 the Jewish community are being parachuted into their homeland and took their lands away by force.

The determination to reclaim what is theirs via Palestinian nationalism fueled with religious fervor for the control and say in the Holy Land will only produce more and more resistance and when they are being marginalized, with far right ideologue, more and more terrorist / guerilla fighters will emerged as such resistance to them is an idea. Ideals do not die easily.

It doesn't matter what you think whether should they have an offensive army or not.
What matters is what they think.

Which is why I consider a two state solution to be a rather impractical solution.
But that is just my personal thoughts.

They are the aggressor
They started every war that ever happened here (Arabs)

The problem is they don't think of it that way. And that is the problem.
And it is also factual that it was the British Mandate of Palestine

I know it is cringed to quote wiki.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandatory_Palestine

And with the above information.

I try to look and understand the three articles below and how it complicated the political situation in that particular region.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMahon%E2%80%93Hussein_Correspondence

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sykes%E2%80%93Picot_Agreement

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balfour_Declaration

Moving forward, it is my opinion that it is extremely difficult to have a true two state solution , as it is also stated by you that if there is a two state solution, Palestinian cannot have an offensive force.
But how are you going to control their defense force.
And if you are to interfere with their self determination and their national security , it means that they are a pseudo vassal state which they will not conform. Nobody would, it simply means they are lesser human beings.
All nation states do not allow themselves to be subjugated with such terms and conditions.

Now as we all know, Muslim in that particular region are more than fervent with their beliefs. A cocktail of Nationalism fueled with religious fervor thus make a two state solution peace plan hardly achievable.

This is just broadly speaking, we haven't even discuss the more nationalistic and conservative Jewish community in Israel yet and what are their thoughts and how they view this issue.

They already have a state its called Jordan
Which is a part of former british mandate of Palestine.
There are majority of Palestinians there.
So they can join them over there if they do not accept our security needs.

Israel will never attack another country like any other democracy.
