I don't understand the supposed argument you are making. If Putin invaded because he was worried about NATO creeping closer(which is a bullshit talking point that ignores Putin's actual rationale for trying to take Ukraine), the result is more NATO members on his border.
That said, Ukraine was not close to NATO membership, they were not even part of the EU. You're just spinning a genocidal war.
