the algorithm already prioritizes checkmark posters. why wouldn't it?

basically a $100/year domain rental on one of the most actively used websites on the planet.
a lot of people and small/medium shops will do this since blue checks became much more cumbersome to obtain

Q Q
Never thought we’d get to the point of not being to use ONE social media platform to be considered as the most “…outrageous act of censorship in modern America…”
Such delusional snowflake mentality.
The guy was able to create his own platform with terms/rules that are apparently extremely vague and more restrictive than Twitter.
People need a dictionary more than they need the constitution, apparently.

Imagine if Truman was removed from the radio, or Bush from cable television.

Again, dictionary.

Your example would be better fit for a certain radio show not broadcasting Truman’s speeches or a certain tv show not showing Bush’s speeches.

Twitter is a single platform with their own terms of service and they were breached multiple times, get over it.

That’s not censorship.

How can you equate twitter to the entirety of cable or radio? That’s just absurd.

the point is, Twitter has gotten so big, that it should be similar to Radio or TV

It was the platform providing the largest reach for the sitting president to address the American people. Not to mention every single social media platform removed him and the one that did not was simply removed from the entire internet. How quickly people forget about Parlor.

88 million people receiving a message in real time as opposed to, maybe one million (being extremely generous) watching the news which cuts and edits almost every sentence the guy spoke.

If you are honestly saying this wasn’t censorship, please provide your definition of the term.

We are talking about a second layer of check here, the 8$ "id check" probably aims at least 10 times more users.

As i said it's fucked up in any way:
- Various governements agencies will have as much "IDs" as they want, there's no real certification possible.
- People who were doing money on bullshit will push it even more. It has a selective negative impact.

As optional diploma i passed a master's degree in "social networks marketing & managment" and nothing changed: these systems are flawed like fuck.

That is my point. Truman spoke to his people via radio broadcast. Bush addressed his people via Cable television. Trump tweeted. As technology advanced and Americans started getting their information from new sources, the president has also changed the platform used to communicate with the citizens.

Sure Truman could have been silenced on the radio and still done interviews for printed press, but that would have cut his audience significantly.

the clamor that 8$ seems to have caused is unreal to me lol. what a pathetic temper tantrum.

whitepeopletwitter had a god knows how many upvotes thread of someone "OWNING MUSK" with a simple "pay your taxes" tweet reply. thousands of comments down is a reply "didn't he pay 11 billion dollars last year?", no replies, under 10 upvotes.

he's been made into a super villain now, same way bernie was the messiah. comical really.
