Without Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, would Microsoft/Apple/Tesla/Facebook even exist?

Entrepreneurship is a very valuable task from which all of society benefits. Of course the CEO of banks or oil companies could be replaced quite easily, but saying that all the one percenters could easily be replaced is factually wrong. Particularly those among them who really create added value for society are mostly irreplaceable.

The real problem with the current system is that the risk-reward structure for these types of position is off balance.

Apple and Microsoft are going strong without jobs and gates.

We've seen the impact of similar purges in the past. There is not an endless supply of high end talent.

Owning often means producing, but as I said, there's a huge difference between being a 1% and a 0.03%er.

The bigger difference is between 'high end talent' and 'high end wealth'. These two categories still have substantial overlap, but it's not enough, and they keep diverging.

Yeah, lol, of course they do.
After the genius of Jobs and Gates has turned these companies into a juggernaut and secured them a dominant market position, they are now so strong that even lesser talents are able to keep them going.

Jobs gets too much credit for his marketing teams work.

Apple is all about the marketing. On an ojbective basis, their products are no better or worse than those of their competitors, just overpriced as fuck.

He made a factual statement.
I know a ceo of bp australia, i could do his job, in fact his job is easier than my job was, he delegates more than half of his work to lower executives and he takes most of his cues from the head branch.
There is at least 30 people in the company as of my retirement that could step seamlessly into his shoes.

Its the same in pretty much any large corporation.
You often get a top management role because the board think you are easy to control, not because of your business acumen.

Its also possible that the grass is always greener. If the position truly was that easy then everyone would do it.

Apple is running out of steam. Satya Nadella on the other hand is a true innovator imo.

There is only so many ceo positions going, whenever a ceo retires or jumps companies etc he is usually replaced within a week.

Agree, although I find android to be superior if you actually want to do anything complex like reset a web server remotely.

A 1%er, a hard working Caucasian , and a Mexican go into a pizzeria together to order food. They decide what to order, a large pepperoni pizza with green peppers, and wait for the food. When the pizza comes out it is cut into 8 slices, the 1% takes 7 of them, and he tells CarsV "hey that spick is taking your pizza vote for me" and CarsV did.

According to most conservatives the Bill of Rights are perks for white guys, and also conservatives fought liberals against rural electrification until the lights were on and said "this isn't so bad". Talk to me when your lights are on.

Well, let me start off by saying it's very characteristic of a communist like you to divide people into pigeonholes and assume their behavior.

"According to most conservatives the Bill of Rights are perks for white guys"

Do you have any actual basis for this claim or is this just more jerking off your own personal beliefs?

You know, Skinned, you strike me as the type of White Liberal who doesn't "get" why something like #ItsOkayToBeWhite is trending on Twitter.

If we killed every member of the 1% their job would. be taken up immediately by others. You don't get to be in that position by being more qualified than the competition, you do by being lucky. There's equally qualified people waiting in the wings to take over when the opportunity arises. Additionally the top earners are increasingly making money by owning, not producing.

Even if I accepted what you are saying that doesn't mean the amount of reward is appropriate. There's no way to justify the huge level of reward currently happening.

Its 100% competition to get the position, and competition to work the system to shift yourself from 'producing' to 'owning'. Once you 'own', you have natural leverage, and life is bliss. Luck is for those born rich, all debts cleared when the big ticket job starts. For the other 99%, we compete for the coins 24/7/365.

How many cycles of 1% purge would it be until basic features of society are gone? Probably just 1. The fact is, not all jobs have ranks of qualified people waiting, and you have ignored job experience entirely which is HUGE is some fields, favored more than certifications and qualifications.

The 'owning' vs 'producing' equation is definitely messed up in the US, I'm just starting to get into managing an investment portfolio and minute trade crypto, very profitable endeavours, but there is no value for society when I figure out the ideal combination of RSI, MACD, BBands, etc to win a commodity buy/sell. This is the kind of crap the 1% is masterful at.
