My point that you clearly missed is that dogs are just another animal.

Raising an animal ethically to be butchered for it's meat is not an issue.

Only when people anthropomorphize the dumb beasts is when they start creating imaginary lines in the sand.

edit - I worked on a farm for a few summers. I helped butcher cows, pigs & chickens. They were delicious.

Edit2- Pigs are smarter than dogs. Are you going to stop eating bacon?

Sure, why not? In the end it's your personal choice what you're eating.

dogs are just another animal to you

to many, myself included they are at the top of the animal hierarchy when it comes to their ability to bond with humans. i'm sure some people out there who have a pet pig would place them on the same pedestal and, i'd expect, they might even abstain from eating pork after becoming intimately familiar with their pig. so to answer the question posed by the op, there's nothing objectively wrong about eating dog meat, but i personally would never even consider it.

You keep deflecting my point that Pigs are smarter than Dogs.

They can also bond with humans.

Why do you value a dumber animals life over a smarter animals life?

Can you not set aside personal and cultural bias to acknowledge this?

i'm not deflecting shit, i just don't care about that point because my metric for how well i can bond with something isn't how intelligent it is. it's not like the intelligence gap between a pig and a dog is the same as between a worm and a human. even if you keep it intraspecies, some dog breeds are quite dumb compared to others but you can bond with the dumber ones all the same.
