Definitively yes, at a minimum, low orbit satellites have been executed by non governmental agencies.
Though, it only managed to stay in orbit for a year.
It begs the question, how is perpetual orbit achieved?

I was sarcastically talking about a physics student who believe constant motion must mean it's always accelerating - like the Earth is in heliocentricity, which is constantly traveling around the sun at 66.600 mph which according to that persons own logic - the Earth will be orbiting at trillion mph soon. :rofl:

Funny stuff, it does beg the question, I just saw an interview on CNN asking the director of Nasa why in the last 40 years, they have only gone into low earth orbit and he was like "oh, that's expensive."

Sounds plausible....

the earth is accelerating as it travels around the sun
you need to understand that acceleration is a change in velocity, a vector
velocity has both speed and direction therefore if an object changes direction it is accelerating
