The most cliche and obvious statement would be "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed." - Thomas Jefferson.

Now we all know when this was written it did not include all men, it only meant white land owners. People have fought that this should include everyone but now those same people are deny gay rights? Why should they be denied marriage because of their sexual beliefs? Marriage was once a religious thing yes, but now a day it is use as a tradition to express one's love for another. Who has the rights to say who one can love and who they can't? It is entirely unethical in my opinion to deny one of something but lets others do the same exact thing. Hypocritical. That is all for now, it is 4 in the morning and I recently had a debate so I am tired lol.
