in many places bumping teachers pay 10-15% still wont draw enough applicants IMO to justify it. making incentive based pay bonuses/raises in a district level would im sure be more helpful. the issue are the unions, the district can be short 10 spec ed teachers, and have 40 applicants for the 1 gym teacher job, and the union will never allow them to offer more pay for the spec ed job outside of their rubric.
teaching is a rewarding profession with insane medical benefits and a great pension plan. but a slight bump wont change that.
Fuck being a teacher, I'll stay in the nut house.
