This is how conservatives should want it. Something that only impacts them (helmet wearing) is a choice, but things that actively impact others (masking) is respected.

If one is willing to completely ignore the CDC's continuous flip-flopping on masks etc., then covid is indeed a bad example to use for his meme. He's got a broader point though, the modern left is indeed very much aligned with the establishment, the state and, on non-economic issues, even with corporate America.

"Obey the establishment" could be the inofficial motto of the modern left. Long gone are the days when the left symbolized counter-culture; nowadays, the left's hegemony over social and cultural institutions is completely lopsided and suffocating; the state itself has in significant parts been co-opted by liberals to serve as a vehicle for their agenda.

So the only person on a bike in that pic is wearing a helmet.
