It's a cash dividend payed out by the state to citizens, who are the collective owners of the means of production.

I don't see a contradiction there. If you're freshly unemployed from a professional job it's actually not advisable to even bother applying to things that are so far below you at that point. It's going to hurt your career to take a 3 month stint at Wendy's instead of spending more time networking and applying for jobs that are in your career.

If you break into my house and take everything and then hand me back a penny you found on the floor it is not a dividend.

True. Now imagine when government also comes in and tells you, you can operate at only 25% capacity for many months, offers your employees 600+usual unemployment benefits for a year now, what happens to that business?

It's funny how in practice you guys on the left are blatantly anti-small businesses and are cheering on more of the middle class being transferred to the lower class, meanwhile large corporations are raking in record profits.

Guess why walmart was still open while claiming small shop are too much at risk while Walmart and other super centers are much worst but still open during the worst period of the "pandemic"

Oh I just realized. You think this is contradictory because you're conflating unemployment benefits with UBI.

Sorry, I didn't realize because it's a really dumb point to make.

Under UBI you don't lose it for going back to work. That's the key difference.
