my point was if you're "pro free speech" in the last 10 years your advocacy is almost indistinguishable from "pro hate speech". and really that's been the case for most of it's history. we had whole segments in undergrad pre-law devoted to how shitty your support becomes if you're for free speech on principal, from flag burning to lawn signs saying god hates fags.

im as pro free speech as goom, i just cheer loudly when people are ruined because of the stupid things they say.

goon-shill regularly makes posts and threads about alleged attacks on free speech when it comes to right wing hate speech. he doesn't do that when republicans ban books with honest history, biology, and lgtbq topics. if he actually opposes those efforts and but is silent for partisan reason, he's just a hack - if he doesn't care about it because it's simply not a principled position of his, he's a hypocrite. neither of which particularly flattering...

lots of people not reading the data correctly. higher paying districts will grab the best applicants, but raising pay across the board wont have the same 1:1 relationship.

in other words fewer good teachers will enter the field that otherwise wouldnt teach than the pay raise intends. and you'll just be paying bad teachers more. the issue is teachers unions which have removed market forces from the equation in many places.
