In Philosophy of Law we studied the argument of: Do you have a responsibility to obey the law, even if it is wrong? We used Letter from Birmingham Jail from MLK and The Apology of Socrates by Plato to argue the opposing viewpoint. Was a good lesson.

Side note: Martin Luther King was denied a gun permit by his local police department after his house was firebombed. Gun control is and always will be racist.



Sometimes I look at his posts and try to figure out wtf he is talking about. I never actually do. It is vaguely about something, but I don't think he knows what it is either.

The problem is buddy, that while you can say that homophobic bakers aren't a big issue - a big orange fascist sits in the white house actively reducing the civil rights of LGBT people. It may not matter to you when the president says he wants to define gender based on your genitals at birth or remove trans people from the military or sanctions a government agency with the direct purpose of fighting for the right of people to discriminate against the LGBT community but you don't have to live with the effects of that. Not just it's enaction but the tacit endorsement of transphobic bigotry by the most powerful man in the west.

Healthcare for all is also important ofc... And that's why socialism is important. Because the capitalists, by and large, don't want that to happen. The pharmaceutical companies want to be able to bankrupt you for your cancer meds dude. These are the real issues.
