From engaging with actual fascists mainly.

Fascism must be constantly fought and held in check otherwise the next thing you know a white nationalist propagandist is advisor to a racist president who sets about attempting to dismantle your civil rights.

Never mind the violence that I suffer on a weekly basis, both social and institutional, thanks to the spreading of such ideas.

It's all defensive action my friend. Not just defense of my person and rights but of democracy and freedom itself. These things which are continuously under attack by the fash.

also how would you feel about fascists defining who is a communist and who isnt in order to determine who should be attacked and not allowed to speak?

Antifascist movements largely operate under the punk rock ethic:

Direct Action: Confrontation and not indirect action like voting
D-I-Y: Do it yourself, don't have people do your work for you.
Don't Sell Out: Don't call the cops. Don't cooperate with the authorities even against enemies. Don't be a bitch.

Here's the thing buddy - I don't fully subscribe to communism... I certainly don't support an accelerationist version that advocates for a revolution in which we pull out Madame guillotine and start cutting off the heads of CEOs. However if a communist revolution were to take place you know what you can do to not get the bullet? Give up your capital. Stop exploiting the worker. Pretty simple. You know what I could do to not be killed if the fash took over? Nothing. I already have breasts thanks to estrogen so I'm a degenerate with Jewish heritage... I might be able to hide those things, though likely not what with record keeping being what it is today, but I can't change them. I'd always be a target. A black guy could do even less. Kinda hard to hide your blackness.

The difference between communism and fascism is simple. One is a critique of an ideology. The other is the promotion of an identity and the destruction of anyone who doesn't belong to that identity.

communism shouldn't be held in check but capitalists have the moral right to do so if they honestly believe capitalism is good and just. considering the level of delusion that takes those people would probably in psychiatric hospitals though
