In all actuality, it probably wouldn't be so difficult to implement. Some companies are already experimenting with smart watch use to track user measurables and compensate them with reduced costs or other benefits.
Dunno. I wasn't really commenting on the feasibility of such a system, my complaint is that this is the slipperiest of slippery slopes. If we accept the notion that the government or employers have any right to influence how free citizens live their private lives, we're only 10-20 years removed from the emergence of a dystopian social credit score system like China's.
I believe in a free society where an individual has the right to decide how to live his life (ofc within the limits of the law) as he seeks fit, which also includes the right to make bad decisions. It is not my understanding of the role of the state to patronize people by protecting them from themselves or deciding for them what the "good" and "bad" decision is.
The whole vaccine debate is a textbook example of this. First, the logic was accepted that those who made the "right" decision by getting vaccinated shall be rewarded with benefits like no mask wearing or access to certain venues like clubs and gyms. Then, the approach was flipped on its head and instead of benefits for those who made the right decision, we're now punishing those who made what the government deems the "wrong" decision by threatening to fire them or otherwise excluding them from public life.
Rewarding desired behavior and punishing non-compliance are two sides of the same coin.
