He didn't qualify his statement along the lines of "if the country goes along with my covid policies, we will shut the virus down". He made a very bold and unmistakable claim that he couldn't possibly live up to.


Also, as long as the vaccination rates among young folks and minorities are lagging as far behind as they do, the argument that only the uncooperative MAGA voters are to blame for the country's current covid woes is laughable. These demos lean strongly Democratic, Biden won them by big margins. These are "his" people and he has done a bad job convincing them to get jabbed. Of course the media and Democratic strategist prefer to run with the narrative that only white rednecks from MAGA country are to blame, but this notion is not grounded in reality as of today.

Personally I think we should set politics aside and put the vaccinated Trump supporters to the front of the line as examples of responsible citizenry to the other supporters, and a positive example of Trump supporters to everybody else.
