maybe, but that's not PREVENTING them, which was my question. what it might actually do is make society less violent overall, likely slightly decreasing many of the stress factors that lead to such shootings in the first place. that said, i understood bogie's post as sarcastic remark on how defunding police would somehow exacerbate the school shooting problem, which seems ridiculous to me...

The point of the clip sauci posted was about American school children living in constant fear of violent attacks. British students being offered stab-proof vests for their school uniforms, and this state of affairs being described as "modern childhood", is highly relevant to this point, even if the number of casualties isn't identical.

My point though is that the "mainstream media is liberal" is a meme. I don't think you realize how influential, prominent, and 'mainstream' conservative media is in the United States--particularly since you don't live here. It would be like me speculating as to the media breakdown in Germany.

the thing is, if you made a post / thread about stabbings, if you were genuinely concerned with violence in (british) schools, i'd be perfectly happy to have that conversation - but using it as a cheap talking point, a whataboutism to distract from america's mass shooting epidemic, is just transparently dishonest. hacks gonna hack...
