Sure, but again: it's not my fault that Biden made unrealistic promises which he had no chance of keeping.

This isn't really true. Biden has been pretty passive. He's not done much of anything to inflame partisan demands, and has at every single step reached out to get Republicans on board.

I'd say he's kept his promise in what capacity he can, now it's on Republicans to get interested in governing again. When the other side is so fundamentally against the temperature going down, you can't really blame Biden for the temperature not going down even if he does everything right.

This is the logical result of letting capitalism into absolutely everything. Wealth inequality gets super high, media becomes hyper partisan, everything gets centralized into a few companies, etc. etc. We're seeing the logical conclusion of neoliberalism and neoconservatism.

I think Biden was one of the few candidates who had a CHANCE at lowering the temperature. I remember so many people on the right saying something along the lines of, "I wouldn't mind Biden, it's the rest that I'm worried about." Now, it's a mainstream position on the right to call for his resignation  What can I say, Americans are addicted to rage.

Unity is something that the government can't really achieve via policy. People need to stop self-segregating and fucking care less about politics. I think the devolution of power is part of the problem because people have very very different experiences in their upbringing.

We've just got done with 4 year of a Trump presidency where he was called a racist, rapist, sexist, Russian spy, etc, and you had a bunch of politically charged partisan investigations and leaks with his supporters constantly berated and talked down too and you expect after all of that half of that country was just going to say oh well Biden is somewhat of a centrist lets give him a chance?

I think people expected Biden from 2008. and they got an administration largely run by his staff. That said, I'm not sure why anyone really wants Kamala to take the reins except as a deliberate tactic aimed at sinking the Democratic party.

I have to imagine that the left felt significantly worse than the right during the Trump administration given that, you know, Trump was the one in power. I mean, your side literally had "Fuck your feelings" flags lol. Your side is the one who implemented some highly questionable policies that harmed a lot of people. But to answer your question, yea, I do expect the party of Christian values to have people of greater moral character.

Uh, isn't that every administration ever? I'm extraordinarily thankful we got a Biden administration and not a Warren or Sanders administration. What do you mean by "expected Biden from 2008?"

I have a feeling that most of the loud voices on the right aren't thinking strategically and are simply mirrors of their leftist Twitter counterparts. They are capricious and dimwitted.

Trump literally opened his campaign immigrants rapists. Gee, I wonder why he got called out on being divisive.

And yes, he did. "Some of them are good people" implies the default is that they aren't. Same as how "Cops are murders, well some of them are good people" implies most police are murders.

I can't speak for bogie, but I think what he meant is that they wanted a Democrat who hasn't gone along with the breathtaking leftward zoom of the Democrats on policy and rhetoric which occurred over the past 6 to 12 years. The Biden from 2020/21 is notably to the left of where Obama and Hillary left off in 2016, and magnitudes to the left of where he himself, but also Obama, were in 2008.

During the 2020 Dem primary, Biden ran as the moderate, decidedly un-woke candidate in comparison to his rivals. Coupled with their memories of Biden from 10 years ago, this probably prompted a lot of conservatives to think that Biden would govern like the cookie cutter center-left guy from 2008 that they remembered him to be.

What they got instead was a dude who invoked systemic racism and white nationalism half a dozen times during his inauguration speech, tries to pass over $5 trillion in spending during his first term in office alone, opens the borders, pushes CRT to be taught in schools, choses his VP and his (prospective) Supreme Court nominees based on their race and gender, shuts down pipelines while gas prices skyrocket because muh climate, and so on and on.

I stopped complaining about this. The worse it gets, the bigger the landslide that DeSantis will get in 2024. I hope Biden gets exactly what he wants, good and hard!

That's the best case scenario. Alternatively, Trump runs again, barely ekes out a win during a highly contested, divisive GOP primary and then limps into the general election which should have been a slam dunk. His personal brand is just so toxic to anyone outside of his base that I could see him losing to Biden even if Biden comes off of a really bad first term.
