The left doesn't control universities, the republican position is anti science.

Obviously, it's more palatable to their base than saying "I might have impeached Trump, but Pelosi was incompetent and lazy". Nevertheless, the second half of that statement is true.

Criticism of the impeachment article for being overly legalistic, and criticism of Pelosi for not appointing at least one Republican as impeachment manager, are justified. But these are arguments to be had after acknowledging that what Trump did is clearly worthy of impeachment and removal.

Trumps Defense is that he is a private citizen

Weird because the Repubs have been brainwashed to think and are still told that he is still president.

So which is it??????

Also whether or not he is a private citizen he incited a riot so he is guilty.

there's no way he's going to win anyway and I don't think he wants to run at 78 as well

All this doesn't change anything: he can even die, his children will go with it: the millilons cultists, Qshits, and related crazies are the only problem here, they won't get removed by the senate.
This "gop" got destryed for a while.

No one thinks he's still president...

The left said Trump wasn't president for all 4 years...

I don't agree with Ezra Klein much on policy, but his viewpoints on the way our political system operates are compelling, whether it be the filibuster or impeachment.

The problem with impeachment can be summed up as he says:

Quote
The problem of impeachment is pretty simple: Presidents are leaders of parties. Parties are tied to the political fortunes of presidents. You're asking a party to basically wreck its immediate political future for the good of the system.

Even though I believe those in the Republican party are morally culpable for what they've done the past 2 months, Ezra's focus on the systemic issues is probably more relevant.
