if all we can do with this is return to "normalcy", we are just prolonging the conflict. normalcy is an escalated situation already.
we can make this immediate situation go away, but we're going to have another issue tomorrow.

i'm not sure what to think myself, but i'm still trying to learn about the history of the continent.

both were adamant about their agenda in Syria and to remove Assad. Clinton promised a no-fly zone over Syria when running as candidate.(again, but larger zone than prior)(something Russia warned us we would go to war for)
Russiagate started because of conflicting agenda on Syria/Ukraine between Obama/Clinton and Russia. (Trump shared Russia's views of Syria as candidate)

even Trump got suckered as soon as he entered office. IC's declare Assad gasses his people and Trump launches missiles because he saw crying kids on youtube.
years pass and information is coming out contradicting both gas attacks. it appears it was all staged. Tucker from FNN was the only MSM head to voice skepticism of the incident without information at hand.

Michael Malice on JRE yesterday pitched his next book idea. Media's role in stoking war and profiteering off it. First he tackles North Korea, then the "New Right", and has biographied several A list celebs. Would be a fun project to see all those fucking "legendary" media outlets exposed as war loving fuckbois.

They launched missiles, taking care to not kill people, or too much people. It's pretty decent way to not lose the face.

A confrontation with the United States ? But you know Iran is a much more older civilization, and much bigger than ViEtNaM or AfGHaNiStAN.

If we had shot them all down, and we can shoot them all down, then Iran wouldn't have saved face and would still be looking for another avenue of attack. It's highly likely we knew they were coming and let them.

This. AA intercept systems we have over there are legit, makes the old Cold War era Stingers and Milans look like shooting a slingshot compared to a 5.56. Trajectory of incoming non guided can be computed in a few seconds. We let em drop.

Initial results from all this look promising on the US end. Iran crosses a red line by killing an American contractor, Trump responds quickly by yeeting their top military guy. Iran retaliates but no American deaths. Trump's initial statement doesn't look like we will respond to their retaliation. This is great news. We can only hope for the best.

So far, Trump has held a steady hand through this while also making America look strong. Iran has gotten away with far too much for far too long. Hopefully this keeps them in their place and tensions do not rise.
