...to fully grasp the greatness of the Beatles one has to be familiar with their progression from a basic 4 instrument stage pop band driven by early commercial success to their culmination as an orchestral backed studio music giant in just a handful of years . Almost all big name bands find a niche and milk it for their entire careers while the Beatles continued to evolve their style and literally drive innovations that future groups would copy and still do .

Indeed, early Beatles is among the worst trash ever written whereas starting from Sgt. Pepper (Rubber Soul and Revolver were decent) their music was actually pretty good.

However, I daresay their only innovations were involving production, and such innovation ought to be credited entirely to George Martin, the greatest Beatle.

I believe the Beatles gained their popularity the same way britney spears or lady Gaga did. It would have been boring radio music and in 50 years we will be idolizing Gaga for having so much publicity in history...

The first few years, this is true.  And then they became amazing and revolutionized music.

Yeah, I was only 1/2 joking about the boy band stuff. Yeah, the stuff they did later was better (imo).

Except The Beatles actually created something.
You may not reallize it but ALL the rock we know now was inspirated by their music more or less.
Edit: and their lyrics actually have some strong meaning... check the chapter about The Beatles on The Present :)

Not at all, very little worthwhile rock owes anything to the Beatles.

Lady Gaga is nowhere near as popular as The Beatles were. No musical artist is/was.

Do you realize they created rock ?
It just did not exist before The Beatles...

Name one rock&roll band that existed before The Beatles instead of posting what you think is accurate.
