ISW is basically anti-Russian propaganda masquerading itself as an objective and impartial think tank. This was well established a long time ago. What i find fascinating is that these type of 'sources' are regularly cited as credible in western MSM. I think to myself no wonder most here have such a distorted view of how the war is going.

Polish incident is extremely strange. Two ukranians who somehow managed to exit Ukraine despite closed borders trying to create a false flag to rally support behind Ukraine as Pokrovsk and Zelensky about to fall.

Saw some Russian war crimes with POWs executed after being captured on the Pokrovsk front, with neo-nazi Russians openly taking credit for it, presumably drone operators captured or whatever
And saw some Ukrainian war crimes with POWs taken on the Pokrovsk front posing as civilians as they were captured, the video showing Russians finding their abandoned uniforms and weapons hidden inside
Capping it off, Ukrainian state media had a talk show today discuss the idea of putting microchip implants into new recruits taken by the TCC to combat the high rate of desertion. Nevermind the illogic like 'Russians would target the microchip signals', but the sheer desperation to even discuss it

That's next level fucked. Thinking it through, if the Russians think the potential POWs now have tracking chips which can basically be turned into geolocators for targets, then there is pretty high incentive to simply kill the guy instead of risking some missile landing on you a few days later.

While they're at it, instead of just a microchip, let them implant a toilet and a TV as well.

I don't think these two events are comparable. Assad was in a far weaker position, even a half-assed Western intervention would have crushed him with ease whereas Russia knows they have strong deterrent against the deployment of NATO troops, plus 3 years of conflict to gauge the extent of the Western commitment. Additionally, using chemical WMD against civilians is a far bigger escalation than blowing up a rail track in the middle of the night with semiplausible deniability. And last but not least, the strategic incentive doesn't compare either. Assad wasn't gaining anything by using chemical weapons at the time when he allegedly did, while it makes a ton of sense for Russia to delay Western supplies to Ukraine right before they are about to make the key advances they had been working toward for months.





This is where 21st century warfare is headed to anyway. We already have drones fundamentally changing everything, and with the rapid advances in AI, it's only a question of time before battles are waged mostly by autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles and aircraft.
