i love how that article title says “harsh” lol I saw that weak EO and he decided to do something 3.5 years into his 4 year term… that’s not actually doing something, that’s trying to get some voters, and it’s such weak terms that it plays a bit into the people that are against a strong border.

Yes I’m against paying off peoples student loan debt. I know a lot about student loans being as I took out roughly $90K myself and paid them off in about 5-6’ish years. You know exactly what you’re doing when you take out those loans, you take trainings on what it means to take on debt and sign promissory notes to pay them back, and you do this every year when you take new loans out. It’s your debt, pay it back. It’s the same thing as someone who wants to start their own business and take out a loan to get it going.. you’re taking out a loan on yourself as a business to get a job, earn money, and pay back the debt. I know several friends that have student loan debt and how irresponsible they are with paying it back and money in general who just want it forgiven because they don’t want to pay it back - it’s ridiculous.

I understand your stance because I want to vote for RFK Jr, but I feel it’s a wasted vote because die hard Trumpers will stay with Trump and die hard Biden lovers will stay with Biden. I just think it’s dumb when people say, “there’s only two bad choice so I’m voting the less bad one”… that’s such a dumb thing to say, own up to the person you’re voting for.

Plus Biden’s new EO on the border couldn’t be weaker and it’s just a play at votes for this election. 3.5 years into a 4 year term after mass illegal immigration crisis is a little too late, and if anything it hurts his case rather than helps because it shows how poorly and slowly he manages crisis events.

I have enough liquid money to pay my student debt in full, but it'd be folly. it beign forgiven and having to pay tax on it is already pretty free. imagine if that got cancelled? sure my value would increase significantly but the purchasing power wouldn't mean anything much in difference. in the end, debt can be handled, but the USA does not need more debt from tax payer money to pay. we all should take that burden individually, and the government should lower its overall spending and put their money where their mouth is.

and if you are liquid enough to pay off your student debt anyone with a brain would otherwise you are just paying more in interest, so your argument doesnt make sense.

Why would I put all of my current worth into paying off a student loan that will be forgiven in time, when I can buydown a mortgage and pay much less on that? Only some1 who does not understand finances would pay off student loans before getting a house and getting equity. You want to pay student loans off and then waste however much you are putting into rent?

Get a net positive ratio of putting money into equity and only losing a bit less on interest on a much larger purchase, something you will always have to pay no matter what.... It basic finances.
