my reaction was a bit charged, because of how stupid it is to immediately assume it was a hate crime, there is no substantial evidence to prove it yet(glad to see you didnt look at any other responses of mine)

and even if there were, and it comes out that it is....the emotional outcry and response from some calling it a holy war, trans against christians

i wouldn't, i'd use media coverage of the abortion debate as weak circumstantial evidence along with their facebook activity to assume it was a targeted hate crime. the same way many today are using the slim specifics we have on the shooter as well as media coverage of related issues to postulate.

assuming is never really the problem, its the inability to change your mind later that's an issue.

i have no interest in defending a likely psychotic killer, and i have no interest in trying to see any sound reasoning behind the holy war argument either

no argument here, the attack on Christianity narratives are hyperbolic nonsense, and im Christian.

i just dont agree its unsafe to assume the motives of the shooter, the circumstances seem fairly clear.

its either:

1. mistreatment when they attended.
2. hyped up by anti-trans laws that are being passed in TN.
3. likely both.

i also dont disagree with that being a possibility, but given that instagram message shit, the way they worded "i need to die today" or whatever

does that sound like a sentence a sane person would say before shooting up a school (mind you, this school was one of several they thought about doing it to, we dont know if they were all christian schools yet, etc......)

i said it before, its likely going to be depressing, and awkward, and potentially even legitimately crazy as fuck...but all senseless murders are....

it doesnt sound like a sane person before they shoot up a school, because no sane person would shoot up a school. i 100% agree they're crazy as shit regardless of misguided motivation.

i dont think i fully agree with the bolded, we as rationally sane adults cannot fathom why someone would be so cruel and heartless, but we know that people do have the potentially to be vicious monsters and be fully sane while doing so

ill also add this, the way that instagram messsage is shown, makes me think the killer had it in their head that they HAD to do whatever they were doing, even that they wished they didnt or something

the levels to that onion of insanity are so very likely more complicated than we can see...but who knows, could just be a simple reactionary hate crime, thats possible too....

any person who kills kids in a school is insane. why? because in ALL cases thusfar its been to further a goal, as misguided as it is. with the exception MAYBE of columbine which was outcasts who did it as a perverted revenge.

if u have a political goal, or even if you're just doing it as revenge because you're depressed, and you think killing kids somehow serves that, then you're imo insane. not just a little batty, all the way out of town batshit crazy. its not a crime of passion, its a premediated heinous murder of children. child killing at all is seriously taboo to our species, we're not bears who eat cubs to force mamas back into heat.

we have a taboo of it because children tend to at an extremely high % be truly innocent to the world

i mean yeah there are child killers and stuff too, but the statistics for kids vs adults when it comes to moral comprehension is obviously proof that they are practically always innocent

the moral accepted reality of most of the world is that we do not harm the innocent, child killings happen to be very high up on that no no list, and for good reason
