Parler was shut down for blatant violations of their contract, including the inability to moderate. That's free market. Don't like it? Tough. This is the world Republicans fought for. Parler didn't like it, and they switched server providers. That's free market.

This idea that big tech colluding isn't free market when the company they "shut down" still exists is a losing one on every level.

And these "blatant violations" miraculously happened to reach the AWS review board (or whatever institutions they use to litigate these kinds of cases) in the exact moment when Twitter banned the incumbent president of the United States and his outraged supporters were looking for alternatives?

I know you're just trolling and holding the ricidulous free market fundamentalism espoused by the GOP in the past against them, but it's beyond obvious that this is a case of dysfunctional markets rather than healthy competition.

i find it funny that right wingers reference "free market" all of the time, in it's ideals and paper definition, but ignore reality. while also doing the opposite with communism, only focusing on examples and not the definition. both forces in reality are subject to corruption, that's the world we live in. the paper definition of free markets dont exist, never will exist, and are moot.

I'm not trolling at all. I'm pointing out that this is the logical conclusion of Republican policy.

I personally believe we should have regulated and broken up this and most other sectors of the economy decades ago now, but pointing out the logical conclusion of Republican policy isn't trolling.



Also, AWS can shut down anybody for violation of contract at any time at their own discretion. Nowhere in the contract does it obligate them to enforce it. They could actively collude with every other organization and wait until Parler broke every organization's contract and shut them down simultaneously and that wouldn't matter in the slightest as long as Parler broke the terms of service, which they absolutely did.

There are internal memo's reporting that the reasons were political. Don't you think lefties and righties would agree that monopolistic behavior is bad here.
