Here is a poster on MMOC going full Unabomber. He is making a dangerous political argument to defend dem congresspeople fleeing to DC from Texas. He says you cannot look at the tactic, but the motive. But his argument allows for people to defend any illegal act by claiming they had moral justifcation for it, which is what the Unabomber did. He doesn't draw a line of distinction whatsoever. His argument is a world where laws are toothless or nonexistent. Why have rules at all if we can justify breaking them when our feelings are hurt? He absolves fleeing to DC with his logic, but someone else might take his logic and use it to justify blowing up a city block. This is a a dumb radical liberal dragging us into the stone age of justice.

I was banned for 2 weeks from that forum for calling him out and defending the rule of law.

The reporter goes into great detail about the ambivalence and contradictory nature of the situation in Kabul during the Taliban takeover. In this context, she says "they chant 'death to america', but seem friendly. it's utterly bizarre". So no, she does not consider the Taliban to be friendly fellows, she explicitly notes how contradictory the friendly manners of the Taliban during the select encounters she had that day are when contrasted with these guys' ideology and political agenda.
