There is definitely racism out there among the right and Trump's supporters. Just go to any mainstream right-wing site and observe the comments. Read between the lines and you can tell some of them are tip-toeing and doing their best not to come off as blatantly bigoted and fearful.
However, it's also true that people need to wake up, grow up, and move past the victimhood trap. Some people are seemingly addicted to it and even embrace it and try to weaponize it (Smollett). This is what happens from decades of indoctrination that tells folks "You're oppressed! The world is against you! They're out to get you! You're a victim!" from nearly every angle of media, movies, news, games, school, etc. After a while it becomes ingrained in some people and they start to hold on to their victimhood like a NRA member holds on to their rifle: you'd have to pry it from their cold dead hands. There's currency in being a victim these days.
