IMO if the Libertarians have a good showing the Socialist party will rise up from nowhere and try to match the success. And a 4 party system would be fine and dandy by me.

I can't see the spurned Bernie Bros looking at a 15%ish showing by the Libertarians and not thinking "hey we could do that too". Then 2020 is a real horse race rather than a slap fight.
