Not to mention far too many unnecessary overseas contracts that have us playing big brother. Afghanistan as an example, what a shit show that cost close to a trillion dollars and many lives.
Don't get me wrong if China or some other aggressor decides to muscle us then I would support 80% of the budget to military. But as it currently stands that money is being mismanaged. Would love to see a fraction of that to be spent on restoration and conservation projects.
In ancient Rome, they trained their soldiers as construction workers and used them to make Aqueducts and bridges in peace time.
Our country is full of louses with backwards priorities as it stands.

The defense budget in the US serves many purposes. It's also some sort of research funding in disguise and a welfare/jobs program for low IQ males who would not have a lot of good options otherwise.
Most of it goes into military contracts withon the private industry.
In afghanistan they pay a private contractor company $1,000 for a cheeseburger and a shake that taste like crap to feed soldiers. How much are the soldiers getting paid?
