Firstly on ur last post while I'm regularly a pompous person I was more drawing a line between what I prescribe and what I deem far more irresponsible behavior ala what Kyle did. 2 people are dead im not going to pretend he didn't do anything wrong even if i don't see him as guilty of murder.
Secondly while I do NOT want to go the way of Australia they are a case that shows certain aspects of gun ownership can be retained even if firearms are effectively removed. They still have hunting. And again I don't see that as a good model and it's stupid hard to get a gun there. Etc.
Overall I respect self defense specifically home defense or property defense very much. But I specifically undervalue guns as a means to defy tyranny more than most gun owners. We've seen what a government can and will do, guns in the hands of people or not, during this pandemic and even before.
Well man, hats off to you for being transparent and keeping a cool head throughout the discussion, I respectfully disagree. America has also seen for the last 20 years what a 'rag tag' group of insurgents can do while being significantly out gunned. Insurgency wars are quite tricky that way. I see why you would have doubts don't get me wrong, I have my own set of doubts mainly focused around the lack of unity amongst the people to give up their comforts for liberty. That being said, I will not give up or undervalue the tools we have to resist true tyranny should that ever become necessary, although I certainly hope it never will.
I do agree with you regarding home defense and property defense and I also recognize that is a far more likely scenario to encounter and I always want to be prepared, both as far as tools and ability to utilize said tools to protect myself those who I have a duty to protect (loved ones, family, etc) from any harm that may come their way. I'm sure you feel the same, and we can leave it on that common ground.
