Entire social relations are different. You used to have to go outside to meet with people and be social. I grew up in the trees around the buildings I lived in but the Boomers slowly tore down that environment and filled it with strip malls with shitty little stores. Then mall culture, which was a blast 100%, but instead of being trained to be extroverted and gregarious kids are trained to be fearful and anxious. It is crazy that kids have schedules as busy as they do because their parents can't hold still.

If I try to drop my teenagers off at Kings Island, give them each $50, and try to drive off they will freak out like I am abandoning them lol. Why the fuck do I buy them the season passes with food allowances if I can't use that place as a place to leave my kids for hours at a time?

There used to be stray dogs too, but now there are all these weird rescues lol. First time I heard someone refer to their dog as a rescue I thought they pulled it out of a lake while it was drowning and nursed it back to health or something. I didn't know they were just being pretentious.

-feminist demonization of the housewife
-social media
-welfare for single parents
-obesity
-PlasmaSnake
-no fault divorce and frivolous domestic courts
-boys and girls in families w/ no male role model
-inflation of the dollar / wages
-women delaying marriage ‘til late 20’s or later
-decay of the church
-companies that prefer women to be single because they spend more money that way

The big deal with social media/online dating these days is that at college or high school in the 90’s is you would only compete with your immediate peers. Now you are competing with Ashton Kutcher, an NBA player, some wealthy guy with a beach house upstate, and the other 1,000 simps sliding in her DM’s - which is probably fun for the women but definitely raises their expectations unattainably high too.

i'd say two other factors are society wide apathy and longer lifespans. when you can expect to live to 100 instead of 65 you wait longer to have kids and get married.

social media has made people have a lot of unrealistic expectations, but sex is at an all time high so it doesnt seem to be slowing people down too much.
