No reason they would. They didn't fabricate the issue of black people getting abused by police, and they didn't speak at the rally that immediately turned into a riot, and the BLM protesters didn't say they got their que from any congressperson.

So... yeah.

And we fight. We fight like hell. And if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.

Our exciting adventures and boldest endeavors have not yet begun. My fellow Americans, for our movement, for our children, and for our beloved country.

And I say this despite all that’s happened. The best is yet to come.

So we’re going to, we’re going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue. I love Pennsylvania Avenue. And we’re going to the Capitol, and we’re going to try and give.

The Democrats are hopeless, they never vote for anything. Not even one vote. But we’re going to try and give our Republicans, the weak ones because the strong ones don’t need any of our help. We’re going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.

So let’s walk down Pennsylvania Avenue.

I want to thank you all. God bless you and God Bless America.

Thank you all for being here. This is incredible. Thank you very much. Thank you.

I still say that comes to how to perceive his meaning of "fight"

I really don't care either way, but I think the congress members were just as much at fault for how divided the country is

there's no way he's going to win anyway and I don't think he wants to run at 78 as well

It doesn't just come down to his actions at that moment. He spent years leading up to the capital riot calling the legitimacy of the system into question based on absolutely nothing.

There are no facts in his corner. There is not "both sides" to this, he lied for years so that if he lost he could rile up his base. The issue they rioted over is a fabrication explicitly put forth by Trump, and that makes him responsible as a leader. Sure we can't lock him up for it, but we can absolutely ban him from running for office again.

Nancy Pelosi should have spent more time building a case on these grounds. McConnell specifically asked to see the articles before deciding. She did not, because she is incompetent and lazy, and this impeachment will be decided on those grounds.

No... the Republicans are pretending that convicting a former president, even though he was impeached as president, is unconstitutional. They are not making the argument that the impeachment article is baseless on the merits.

Obviously, it's more palatable to their base than saying "I might have impeached Trump, but Pelosi was incompetent and lazy". Nevertheless, the second half of that statement is true.
