an appropriate response would be using the literal trillions worth of military equipment and intelligence assets at their disposal to go after (arrest / eliminate) actual combatants, those that have or clearly are about to attack israel - and not indiscriminately bomb and starve out a densely populated area full of women, children, and innocent people, which are already de facto imprisoned and severely deprived of basic freedoms and resources by israel in the first place.

the act of telling them to "leave", while holding the keys to their cell, and knowing exactly that the vast majority of them simply don't even have the means to do so, just further illustrates the cruelty of israel's far-right government. they are literal terrorists themselves.

Also think there would be more volatility in oil prices if this was true, they have gone up slightly but it’s been a fairly muted move

Maybe the Israeli government isn't intentionally targeting civilians to the same extent as the Hamas, however they should try harder not to harm civilians as much as possible. They have the resources to do that.
