So this kind of thing scares the shit out of me. Ultimately I think this election will decide my opinion of most of the American population. Can Trump make latinos, and every other group he alienated forget about how badly he burned them during the primary with messaging, or is that only a trick that will work on the more fear and authority based conservative voters? In the end Republicans are outnumbered by both independents and democrats, so if this kind of strategy doesn't work in the general it will show itself pretty clearly in that Trump is going to get annihilated.

However, I think even if Donald does really well and smashes Hillary, the Trump candidacy has doomed Republicans in the terms of congressional seats.

Latinos voting for Trump realize he wasn't alienating Latinos but using his truthful hyperbole strategy about rape statistics involving illegal immigrants. Truthful hyperbole is a good linguistic strategy, among many others, Trump uses to be a very persuasive candidate.

Yeah bullshit. Trump isn't playing "truthful hyperbole". He was appealing to the fears of the Republican primary voters. I do love how Trump supporters bend over backwards to give him credit for things he's never said before though.

Trump uses the term truthful hyperbole in The Art of the Deal to express his strategy and consistently employs it throughout this election.
